Deasy, Mary M.
Obituary
Mary M. Deasy was born in Akron, Ohio in 1927 and passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 11, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Howard for over 51 years until his death in 2008; mother to Michael and daughter-in-law Marie; a devoted and generous grandmother to Michael, Meghan, and Madeline; a fondly remembered sister to Dick Oravec and his wife Carol; and sister-in-law to Mary Oravec and Nathalie Lovett and her husband Bill. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary Oravec, her husband, and her siblings: Sr. Magdalene of Sisters of Charity, Frank Oravec, Michael Oravec, and Joseph Oravec. She worked as secretary at Goodyear where she met and married the love of her life in 1957. They moved many times finally settling in Dallas over 40 years ago. She was an avid golfer, bowler, and bridge player and enjoyed people and parties especially family gatherings. Mary and Howard enjoyed vacations at the beach for many years with family and friends. She was always present at any activity in which the grandchildren took part. Although Alzheimers weakened her memory and communication skills over the last few years, it did not lessen her zest for life. Her final years were made enjoyable by the outstanding care and support she received at Silverado Plano Memory Care community. We will remember her strong will, humor, and strength of faith. A Rosary will be held at 10:00 A.M. on June 18, 2016 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, 12521 Inwood Rd, Dallas, Texas with a Mass to follow at 11:30 A.M. Mary will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Mary’s name to St. Jude’s Hospital.
