Obituary
Thomas A. Thompson, 82, of Farmington, NM passed away on Sunday morning September 25, 2016 in his sleep. He was born on December 1, 1933 in Toyah, TX to Lora Thompson. He graduated high school in 1952. He joined the Army of the United States in 1954 and served 2 years active duty in the Korean War era. He was honorably discharged in December of 1955. On April 7, 1956 he married Sue Carroll; the love of his life, and the center of his world. Together, they raised their 2 daughters, Donna Sue and Pattye Ann. He retired from El Paso Natural Gas Company after more than 30 years of employment. Tom Thompson believed in faith in the Lord, honor, respect, hard work, integrity, trust, and working with his hands. He passed his life lessons, stories, and skills not only to his daughters and grandchildren, but to all who came into his life. He was a man whose family was his life. A good man has passed, he will always be treasured. Tom Thompson is preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Sue Thompson; grandson, Tommy Wayne Hart; mother, Lora Thompson; and brother, Stan Thompson. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Thompson; daughter, Pattye (Jim) Austin; 5 Grandchildren and their spouses; Brain (Ali) Hart, Kimberly (Billy) Lindamood, Matthew (Alexandrea) Dragich, Deanna (Kip) Herrington, Kathye (Sasha) Arrington; and 8 great-grandchildren; Gage, Tom, Liliana Bryn, Averie, Emery, Kyan, Braden, and Presley; brother, Bill (Maxine) Thompson; Sister, Jane (Earl) Fisher. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Christ Church Irving, 1750 E Airport Freeway, Irving, Texas 75062.
