Robert “Haven” Edwards, affectionately known as Colonel, age 71, of Plano, Texas took his last ride from earth to heavenly glory on October 16, 2016 and is now riding on the streets of gold. He was born on June 9, 1945 in McAllen, Texas to the late J. Dale and Alice Lloyd Edwards. He served our country and was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force in 1973. He attended Tyler Junior College and East Texas State University in Commerce. He owned and operated several businesses throughout his career. Haven enjoyed hunting, fishing and of course Harley motorcycles. He is survived by his loving wife, Terry Cox of Plano, Texas; brother, Lloyd Edwards and wife, Regina of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Courtney Bannister and husband Gary of Rowlett, Texas and Shelly Wood and husband, Robert of Ponder, Texas; son, Bill Cody of Arlington; Grandchildren, Hayley, Megan, Maddi, Cole, Beau, Bristol, Katy, and Sydnee; niece, Kim Schrantz and husband, Tom of Virginia Beach, Virginia; nephew, Derek Edwards from Dallas, Texas and a host of friends. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, October 21, 2016 at ARIA Memorial Chapel in Dallas with Larry Moffett officiating.
