Obituary
Mary Joyce (MJ) Pashley, age 75 of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017. She was born in Denver, Colorado to Thomas Pistole and Helen V. Pistole on November 26, 1941. MJ grew up in Denver where she graduated from Holy Family Catholic High School. She moved from Denver to Venice, Florida in 1973, where she became a clown costumer for Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus. She moved to Sarasota, Florida, and became involved in the theatre with the Players Theatre of Sarasota, where she met her husband of 31 years, John Pashley. In 1988 they moved to the Dallas area where they were both involved with the Dallas Historical Society, Texana Living History, The Turtle Creek Chorale and other theatrical endeavors. Throughout her life, MJ was an avid artist and crafts person. She loved to travel, and her visit in 2006 to Ireland, the birthplace of her ancestors, was the highlight of her life. She was preceded in death by Kenneth Weingardt, her first husband, and Matthew Weingardt, her son. She is survived by her husband John Pashley; her daughter Lucy K. Weingardt and daughter-in-law Jennifer Jones; her stepsons Adrian and Stephen Pashley; six grandchildren; and numerous loving friends and extended family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Aria Preston Chapel with an inurnment to follow at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
