Jordan Sr,, James Harold
Obituary
James (Jim) Jordan was born in Richmond Missouri 10/31/29, the third son of Gilbert and Leila Jordan of St. Louis Missouri. He grew up and graduated from high school in Webster Groves Missouri. He graduated from SMU in Dallas Texas with a Bachelor of business administration in 1951. Jim’s Service in the U.S. Navy began shortly thereafter, during the Korean War. While in the US Navy, Lieutenant Commander Jordan served as a fighter pilot on several ships, flying numerous air patrol missions. Jim was truly an American patriot and his service as a pilot was held by him as some of the fondest memories of his life. He married Ann (Toni) Edward New during his latter Navy years and was honorably discharged shortly after the birth of his first child. Jim worked briefly with Southwestern Bell, when taking a job with McNaughton as a builder and developer. This position lead him to the Houston area where he raised his family. He later went to work for Aramco in Saudi Arabia as an apartment contractor and developer. He as well participated in the development of the Quail Valley Subdivision in Houston Texas. Jim’s experience in housing development and building lead him to a position with HUD as a home inspector during which time he married Marylou Hugo in 1988. Jim retired with HUD in 1994. Retirement allowed Jim to spend every day teeing it up with his golf buddies at numerous Houston area golf courses. Jim and Marylou moved to the Dallas area in 2004, where Jim continued his passion for golf. He is survived by his wife, Marylou, son, James Jordan Jr, daughter, Sarah Jordan Presutti, daughter-in-law Lisa Jordan, son-in-law Rich Presutti, grandchildren Jack Jordan, Brooke Jordan, Isabella Presutti and John Presutti. He is also survived by step-daughter Mendi Strader, step-son Randy Amason, and he was “Big Daddy” to 5 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by those who loved him. A “Celebration of life” will be held at El Centro Mexican Restaurant, 3813 Main St., Rowlett, Texas on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 11:00am to 1:00pm.
