Deittrick, Joseph "Joe" Edward
Obituary
Joseph Edward Deittrick, 73, of McKinney, TX lost his five year battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 7th, 2017. Joe was born July 13, 1943 in Mt. Clemens, MI to the late Harold & Elizabeth Deittrick (Povlich). Joe was preceded in death by his son, John Deittrick. Joe is survived by his wife, Margaret, son Richard (Amber) Deittrick, daughter Susan (Donald) Deittrick, daughter Brenda (Dan) Kwapisz, twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Joe first saw Margaret at a bus stop in Warren, MI. She was getting off the bus and they met at a mutual friend’s house. That was the beginning of a long relationship even though Margaret tried not to get involved with him as he was currently dating another. With all the tricks she played to avoid him, she finally gave in to his persistence and they were married April, 22 1972. Joe worked throughout his life in various positions including in the early years as a milk man, garbage man, security guard and lastly at a die cast manufacturing shop, Wolverine Die Cast in Warren, MI until he retired. Joe’s hobbies included motorcycles, boats, fishing, classic cars, model cars, jigsaw puzzles he would put together with his grandchildren, and playing games with his family including euchre, phase 10 and Yahtzee. Joe began going to the Salvation Army Church in McKinney, TX in 2014 and became a member of the Church along with his wife and eldest son. Joe, of course, was surprised that the Church didn’t burn down when he walked in and must have realized his sins throughout his life could and would be forgiven. A service is being held at the Salvation Army Church in McKinney, TX on Saturday, June 10th at 5pm with another to be held at 6pm Friday, June 30th at 5460 Arden Ave in Warren, MI. Arrangements are under the direction of ARIA Cremation Service and Funeral Home 19310 Preston Road Dallas, Texas 75252 214-306-6700
