Obituary
Daniel Taylor Griffing, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away on June 7, 2017 at the age of 48 years old. Daniel was born on May 25, 1969 in Berkeley, California to Steven David Griffing and Laurie Ellen Taylor Griffing. Dan grew up on Oakland, California until his family moved to Texas in 1984. He graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1987, was an enlisted member of the United States Navy from 1987 to 1989, and, most recently, worked as a Director of Information Technology. Dan maintained a lifelong love for music and even had his own recording studio where he enjoyed working alongside his father. He played in church bands and was part of a band called Genepool. Daniel also really enjoyed cooking, hanging out with friends, playing pool, and, above all else, spending time with his family. Family was always important to Dan. He made regular calls and visits to his parents and closest friends. Daniel Taylor Griffing is survived by his wife of 18 years, Sheri Mann Griffing, his parents, children; Cliff & Cameron Griffing, siblings; Rachel Merritt, Celeste Hallstrom (Todd Hallstrom), and Matthew Griffing (Amy Griffing), his nieces and nephews; Jessica Velasquez (Javier), Eric Hallstrom, Ryan Hallstrom, Emily Hallstrom, and Steven Griffing, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
