Lampman, USAF Retired, Lt. Col. Richard "Dick" Emmett
Obituary
Retired Lieutenant Colonel Richard Emmett Lampman, 77, of Schertz Texas passed away on June 23rd 2017 to be with our Lord Jesus Christ. Richard was born in Lansing, Michigan to Maude and Dexter Lampman. Richard enjoyed learning throughout his life, he was an avid reader and held several degrees from colleges across the country, including USC and Auburn University. Richard was very proud to have retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force. He received many accolades throughout his long career as a navigator. Being a member of the Strategic Air Command, a premier department of the Air Force, was one of the highlights of his career. As a veteran of the United States Air Force he was stationed in many places around the world and enjoyed telling stories of his adventures to family and friends. He was a golf enthusiast and thoroughly enjoyed his golfing group at the Randolph Air Force Base. He enjoyed fishing through all stages of his life and shared that hobby with his daughters. After service he had a very successful business career in Hawaii and was admired by his colleagues for his leadership skills. Those friendships continued through the years and geographical distances. Richard’s first wife Beverly passed away several years ago, and he is survived by his daughters, Kimberly and Jill and his son in law Michael and was the proud grandfather of two grandsons Maxwell and Jack. In addition, Richard is survived by his second wife Diane, and also embraced Diane’s family as a stepfather to Julia, John and Michael their spouses, and seven step grandchildren. If you would like to remember and honor Richard we ask you to perhaps play a round of golf or share a few beers with friends in his memory. We all loved him so much and he will be greatly missed.
