Obituary
Buehrle, Walter Albert passed away August 18, 2017. Walter was born February 19, 1929 to Walter Ford and Ethel Rose Buehrle of Youngstown, Ohio. Walter and his beloved wife, Joyce met at the wedding of Walter’s older brother, Clayton, and Joyce’s older sister, Betty, and started dating at ages 16 and 15. They were married January 29, 1949, and together raised 4 children. Walter graduated from Sunset High School, Dallas, TX in 1948. He attended Austin Theological Seminary, Austin, TX, where he graduated in 1959 and followed the calling of the Presbyterian Church. He served as a minister in Lubbock, Elgin, Giddings, Gladewater, Hallsville, Mexia, Robinson, and Lott, until he retired in 1977. Joyce and Walter then launched a successful antiques business in Waco until they retired in 2012. He had a passion for baseball, golf, tomatoes, funny jokes, and enjoyed watching movies and game shows. He was a great story teller and could keep you spellbound for hours. Walter is preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce, of 67 years, and sons William Dale (Pat) and David Lynn Buehrle. He is survived by twin brother, Bill Buehrle of Longview, TX, children, Mike (Sharon) of Oglesby, TX, and Cindy (Ed Richman) of Richardson, TX, daughter-in-law Pat Buehrle (Dale) of Beaumont, TX, 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, nephews Paul (Suzette) of Dallas, Ken (Lynn) of Coppell, and niece, Marsha (Frank Morehouse) of Frisco. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 23, at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, TX. Columbarium service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 21 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Beaumont, TX. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ASPCA of Greater Dallas, Mission Waco, or a charity of your choice.
