Obituary
Shirley J. Shook passed away peacefully on December 30, 2017 with her family by her side. She was the retired 911 operator for the Little Rock Police department. She moved from Arkansas to Texas 10 years ago. She was the beloved mother of her son Aaron Shook of Irving, Texas and his wife Julie, her daughter Trina Richmond of El Dorado, Arkansas and her husband Joe, her daughter, Karen Pretorius of Euless, Texas and her husband Richard, and her daughter Sharon Wilhoite of Tonapah, AZ, and her husband David. She is proceeded in death by her father Arthur Pickett, her mother Della Pickett, and her sister Barbara Stanford. She was the beloved grandmother/ Gran to Sarah Shook Rowles, and her husband Matt, Adam Richmond and his wife Lissa, Joshua Richmond and his wife Rocio, Scott Richmond and his wife Emily, Brendon Pretorius and his Lacey, Braden Pretorius and his wife Lindsey, Branson Pretorius and his wife Lacy, Amanda Wilhoite and her husband Scott, Landon Wilhoite, Tiberius Wilhoite, Lexie Wilhoite, Noelle Wilhoite, Fred Wilhoite, and Hannah Wilhoite. She was the great grandmother of Luke Pretorius, Bailee Pretorius, Kylee Pretorius, Jacob Richmond, Nathan Richmond, Aidan Huffman, Logan Richmond, Lily Richmond, and Stella Richmond, Elena Rowles, Declan James, and baby Jonathan Pretorius, Nolan Pretorius, Preston Pretorius and baby Avalyn Rowles. She will also be missed by her sisters Fern Powell of Hensley, Arkansas, Betty Haltom of Benton, Arkansas, and Wilma Cadle of Abilene, Texas. She was the beloved Aunt of many Nieces and Nephews. A private memorial/funeral will be held for the immediate family on Thursday and a public memorial will held in the spring. Please send the family condolences and sign the guestbook on this site.
