Obituary
Robert (“Bob”) Albert Mazac, Jr., 64, of Mansfield, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Retha Mazac; two sons, Robert Mazac IV and wife Heather of Grand Prairie, TX and David Mazac and wife Lauren of Mansfield, TX; brothers, Steve Mazac and James Mazac; sisters, Jane McNutt, Elaine Montgomery and June Denheim; six grandchildren, Quinn, Seth, Emily, Hayden, Claire and Luke; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. Born on May 23, 1953, in Houston, Texas, Bob was the son of the late Robert Mazac and Selma Mazac. Bob served from 1970 – 1976 in the Unites States Marine Corps as a Sergeant in Platoon 2169 with the Second Battalion, 1st Marine Division, in the 3rd 155 Howitzer Battery, Second Field Artillery Group, where he earned many awards and commendations, including Rifle Expert. He married the love of his life, Retha, on January 20th, 1974, and had two sons, Robert and David. Bob worked for American Airlines as a mechanic from 1986 until he retired in 2014. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with family. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Aria Funeral Home, 1820 N Belt Line Rd., Irving, TX 75061, where Reverend Marty Collier will be officiating. Burial will follow at the DFW National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 13th from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Please send the family condolences and sign the guestbook on this site.
