Stockard, Donald Keith "Duck"
Obituary
Donald Keith Stockard (Duck) of Plano, Texas, passed away suddenly on February 9, 2018, at the age of 72, surrounded by family. He was born and reared in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, along with his five siblings. Don graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1963 and was drafted by the New York Mets, but he chose to attend college. He received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and subsequently received a Master of Education from Northeast Louisiana State College in Monroe, Louisiana. In his early career, Don was a teacher and coach. His true expertise was in sales, whether it was cars, trucks, or insurance. His desire to serve others led him to being a volunteer for the Texas Veterans as a VA accredited claims agent. He was an active member of his church, where he had served as an usher and most recently as a Eucharistic Minister. Don was a great athlete, loved sports of all kinds, and was an avid fan of the University of Oklahoma Sooners. He loved traveling, golfing, exercising, dining, and socializing with friends. The most treasured moments of his life were spent being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was incredibly humble, never met a stranger, and was loved by all who knew him. Don is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Virginia; his daughters, Cheryl Shoffner Jordan, Cindy Shoffner Duggan, and Allison Stockard Painich, and his son-in-law, Joey Painich. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Patrick Lambert, Jr., Christopher Keith Duggan, Austin Duggan, Brennen Duggan, Cody Duggan, Maddie Painich, and Nate Painich; his great-grandchildren, Lyric Normand, Ariel Lambert, and Patrick Lambert III; his brothers, Ed Stockard and Jim Stockard and his sister, Mari Young, along with their spouses as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ulysses Eldridge Stockard and Claudia Alice Ray Stockard, and his brothers, Jerry Stockard and Gary Stockard. The service will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church at 5100 West Plano Parkway in Plano, Texas, on February 23, 2018. Visitation begins at 10:15 a.m. with the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow in the columbarium. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, Paralyzed Veterans, or Survivors of Police Officers. “Pops, you were the center of our world. You will always be in our hearts, actions, and words.” Arrangements are under the direction of ARIA Cremation Service and Funeral Home 19310 Preston Road Dallas, Texas 75252 214-306-6700

Virginia,
So sad to read of Don’s passing. He was a dear, dear friend who I will truly miss. Don and I had many good times when we were both at McHale Ford. Even though Sherry and I didn’t get to see you and Don as often as we would have liked we counted y’all as one of our dearest friends. He loved you and his family. RIP my friend. Ron & Sherry
My heart goes out to Virginia, Cindy and the boys. Enjoyed seeing Don at all the West football games. Love to you all. The Ryne’s

Sorry for your loss, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Enjoyed very much when we would come to Sapulpa, and I was able to play with Don on the farm.
