Ward, Cody Ryan
Obituary
Cody Ryan Ward came into this world on November 4, 1982 and departed on May 1, 2018. He is survived by his parents, Karen Jones and Mark and Barbara Ward, Grandmother, Alice Brooks, along with sisters, Katie Shuford, Amanda Ward, Danette McGuire and Jessica McElwee. He is also survived by brothers, Randy and Bradley White, brother in laws, Heath Shuford and Matt McElwee and many nieces, nephews and cherished friends. Cody was a graduate of the University of North Texas. He worked at various optical stores as an Optician and also spent time working for the Counsel on Drug and Alcohol Abuse. From a young age, Cody always stood up for the little guys and the downtrodden. He always had a passion for helping others who were less fortunate than himself and always went out of his way to make others feel accepted regardless of their differences. One of his favorite charities was The Trevor Project, an organization that helps gay youth face many of the common challenges related to coming out to family, friends and the community. In lieu of flowers, Cody would have appreciated donations be made at https://give.thetrevorproject.org/give/63307/#!/donation/checkout. Cody was an organ donor and he wished to cremated. We will be having a celebration of his life on June 2, 2018 from 5:00-8:00P.M. All are welcome to spend time reminiscing with friends and family. 4015 Latham Dr. Plano, Texas 75023 For any questions call or text Karen Jones 972-213-5514. I was very sad to hear of Cody’s passing and wanted to send my prayers and condolences to his family. I was on the school newspaper staff at Brookhaven with Cody way back in 2001. He was a very sweet, smart and witty guy and I really enjoyed working/ studying with him. I know he will be missed
