Obituary
Philip Lawrence Crayton was born January 28th, 1947. On June 11, 2018 Philip departed this earth for his heavenly home after his short and sudden illness. Philip was born in Houston, Texas where his father was attending medical school. He was the oldest son of Dr. Philip Crayton Sr. and Mary Virginia Britton Crayton. Dr. Crayton relocated his family to Marshall, Texas where Philip grew up. Philip was a drummer in the Marshall High School band. After graduation in 1965 he attended college at Stephen F. Austin and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. On September 1, 1967 he married his high school sweetheart, Gayla Carrington. They were married for 50 years. She remained by his side through happiness and illness. In 1969, Philip and Gayla moved to Carrollton where their children were born. Philip was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. Howard Crayton, Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Britton, his parents, Dr. Philip Crayton and wife Mary Virginia Crayton and his youngest brother John Crayton. Survivors include his wife Gayla Crayton, daughter Carol and husband Jeremy, son Keith Crayton as well as his two granddaughters, Ella and Nico, who were the loves of his life. He is also survived by his brother Dr. Steve Crayton and wife Fe Crayton, nephews Chris and Kevin Crayton, and sister-in-law Joni Cobb and children Rebecca Coleman and Matthew Crayton. Philip’s passion throughout life was soccer. He was a member of the North Texas Premier Soccer Association where he held such titles as Player, Captain, Board Member, and Division Commissioner. Philip was also owner and president of the company he founded over 25 years ago, J.B. Industrial. From the Crayton family, thank you to all of his Manchester OC Liga teammates, extended family and friends for their prayers, friendship, love and support. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations in Philip’s name to the Amyloidosis Research Consortium via www.arci.org. A memorial service for Philip will be held at Aria Cremation Services at 19310 Preston Road, Dallas, TX 75252 on Saturday June 16, 2018 at 6:00 P.M.
