Obituary
Bradley Robert Freis, better known as Brad or Officer Freis, 66 of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on July 24th, 2018, after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Brad was born in Joliet, Illinois on April 24,1952 to Robert and Marie Freis. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and followed his dream to become a police officer. Officer Freis spent 38 years as a motor officer, sergeant, and a myriad of other roles in the Addison Police Department. Brad’s service did not stop there. He was actively involved in LETR, and raised millions of dollars for Special Olympics Texas. His people skills and big heart earned him numerous honors and even more friends. Brad leaves behind the love of his life, Donna Kay Freis (after 28 years of marriage),his children:Holly Haggard, Zach Freis, Cody Freis, stepchildren: Adam Legg, Mallory Newton; and 6 grandchildren who adore him. He is also survived by siblings; Gary Freis, Debbie Schoeberl, Mark Freis, Kim Hutchinson, Scott Freis, and was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Brian Freis. He will be remembered as a good man with a servant’s heart who always put others first. The funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm on Monday July 30, 2018 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (1705 E. Peters Colony, Carrollton). A memorial will follow the funeral at the Haggard Party Barn (5948 McKamy Trail, Plano).
