William Harold Thompson, 97, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 at Grandmother’s house. Funeral: August 24, 2018 at Ridglea Presbyterian Church, 4350 River Oaks Blvd., Fort Worth. Viewing at the church at 12 p.m. and service at the church at 1 p.m. Reception to follow at the church. Burial with Military honors in Arlington at Parkdale Cemetary, 801 South Mary St. Arlington. William Harold Thompson was born January 3, 1921 in Arlington. He attended Arlington High School and the University of Texas at Arlington. He met his wife, Bettye in Fort Worth and they lived their entire marriage in Fort Worth. Mr. Thompson served in the AAF Base Unit as Sergeant, Army of the United States. He was a member of Ridglea Presbyterian Church and Ridglea Country Club for more than 60 years. He was a member of Moslah Shrine Temple and the Shrine Burn Center for 50 yrs, Fort Worth Scottish Rite (32 degree) Blue hat master (22 degree) for 50 yrs, Fort Worth Lodge #148 Master Mason for 50 yrs, PastPatron Eastern Star Key Stone Chapter, Past President Elks Lodge Fort Worth and Bowling Greens, Ky., Past President of Sons of American Revolution , 2 terms, Van Zant Chapter, Soap Box Derby and First President of Mo-Ranch Men’s Conference. Survivors: Mr. Thompson is survived by 3 daughters; Suzanne Ames- Dallas, Tx., Marybettie Tabor – Salina, Ks., Virginia Durham- Arlington, Tx. and 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, and 7 Great Great Grandchildren.
