Obituary
Merlyn Lance Hawks, 84 of Southlake, Texas passed away on September 22, 2018. She was born on May 7, 1934 to Howard and Ireta Hansen Lance in Moab, Utah. She enjoyed growing up on the farm with her brother and sisters.
Merlyn married her sweetheart, Raymond, in the Salt Lake Temple on June 7, 1951. She was a loving mother to her five children and devoted her life to her family. She worked off and on for 20 years for the Boeing Corporation, retiring at the age of 62.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in the Primary, Young Women and Relief Society. Merlyn loved sewing, reading,traveling and camping with the family. She was kind and caring friend and neighbor and served others gladly.
She is survived by her Children; Loretta and (Steve) Hamilton, Southlake, TX; Robert and (Ellen) Hawks, Stanwood, WA; Von and (Cindy) Hawks, West Jordan, UT; (Larry) Oswald, Rio Rancho, NM; Lee and (Koko) Hawks, Kent, WA; 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She is also survived by 3 sisters; Marjean and (Wilford) Moses, Grand Junction, CO; Helen and ( John) Sorensen, Provo, UT; Rita Gaye and (Roni) Tremble, Orem, UT. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter Melanie Oswald; a brother Deloy Lance, and 2 sisters Janice Rowley and Shirley Ann Lance; and a great grandson Stephen Raymond Hamilton.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Colleyville Stake Center, 500 West McDonwell School RD, Colleyville, TX 76034. Preceding the services, a viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 420 South 400 East, Spanish Fork, UT 84660. There will be a viewing at walker mortuary from 12:30 to 1:30 just prior to the 2 p.m. service. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery next to her sweetheart.
