Obituary
A much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Wanda Juanita Whittle (“Nita”) 68, of Richardson, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on October 6, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She bravely confronted and fought cancer. Nita was born on January 2, 1950 in High Point, North Carolina and resided in Richardson, Texas for the past 36 years having moved from Greensboro, North Carolina in 1982 to accept an accounting position in Dallas. She graduated from Sumner High School in 1968 and received a BA from Appalachian State University in 1972. Nita worked in accounting for various companies, including UNC Greensboro, Steak & Ale, Le Chateau and Today’s Temporaries. Nita loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed fishing and traveling. Her favorite fishing experiences were trout fishing in Lake Cities, Colorado and surf fishing for red drum at Kure Beach, North Carolina. She also enjoyed spending time at their lake place at Lake Fort, Texas. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ron Whittle; daughter Kristyn Saba; granddaughters Kara and Jordyn Saba; grandson Austin Saba; sisters Ginny Purgason and husband Jack Purgason, Ann Thornberry, Sue Coltrane and husband Norman Coltrane, Peggy Lineback; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ben Middleton, and granddaughter Andrea Saba. A memorial service will be held at 4 pm Monday, October 15, 2018 at First United Methodist Church Richardson, 503 N Central Expressway, Richardson, TX 75080. Memorials may be made to Dallas Arboretum, 8525 Garland Rd, Dallas, Texas 75218 or online at dallasarboretum.org.
