Obituary
Phyllis M. Johnson passed away on June 29, 2014 after a brief illness. She was born February 10, 1927 in Lowell, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen Purtell. Phyllis enjoyed a long and successful life. She had three wonderful careers as a pediatric nurse, a Montessori teacher, and finally as a real estate agent with Briggs Freeman in Dallas, Texas. Phyllis loved to travel with her family all over the world throughout her lifetime. One of her passions in life was her involvement with St. Michael and All Angels Church and her important volunteer work with St. Michael’s Exchange. Phyllis was beloved by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Dr. Warren C. Johnson. She will be missed dearly by her son, Mark Johnson, from Houston, Texas, her daughter, Dana Fern Ousley, from New York City, her grandson Ben Gurtner, and her granddaughter Laura Wertz. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jubilee Center at St. Michael and All Angels Church. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 3rd, 2014, at 10 AM in the chapel at St. Michael and All Angels Church, 8011 Douglas at Colgate, Dallas, Texas, 75225.
