Messina, Eunice Marie
Obituary
Eunice Marie Messina
June 17, 1950 – January 6, 2015
Eunice Marie passed away on January 6, 2015 after a valiant struggle with multiple illnesses. She is survived by her husband John, her daughter Courtney, and siblings Mike Heim, Carol Franke, and Pat Etheredge. Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, a University of Texas at Arlington graduate, she had a long and successful career with JC Penney followed by joining her husband’s business in clothing manufacturing and fundraising. The family has lived in Plano, Texas since 1989. Eunice had many passions in life, the first being her family, then followed by her devotion to God and to her church. It was with joy and commitment that she immersed herself in ongoing service to those who needed her. She was a woman of purpose, a woman who made a difference in the lives of all that she touched. Regardless of the task, she was in it one hundred percent, from her daughter’s soccer to ministering to the homebound. There are no adequate words to describe the goodness of this woman who inspired, encouraged, supported and loved with such beauty and grace. “We will miss her laughter, her smiles, her hugs, and her entire being. We will cherish the gift that we were given to have her in our lives.”
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a charitable donation to The Eunice Messina Fund Prince of Peace, to which proceeds will go to The Hogar Orphanage in Honduras.
A mass celebrating her life will be held at 1:30 P.M., Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church located at 5100 W. Plano Parkway, Plano, Texas 75093.

So saddened to learn of Eunice’s passing. I have many fond memories of youthful antics from our St Alice school days. She lived a life of purpose and meaning. She leaves a strong legacy.

I am so sad to hear of Eunice’s passing. Although I haven’t seen her through the years after Nolan, I always regarded Her as a very bright, and kind person. May the Lord comfort you John and family, and praise Hod for the glory in which she now dwells.
I am heartbroken to hear about Mrs. Messina. As a close friend of Courtney’s I had the wonderful pleasure of staying at the Messina’s beautiful home in Plano. She was such a wonderful and kind person, and I always loved hearing stories about Eunice from Courtney. What is written above is truly beautiful, Courtney is a testament to having such an incredible mother because she is one of the most caring, hard working, and determined people I know….just like her mother.
John, Courtney and family,

Courtney & John,
I am so very sorry to hear about Eunice. Our paths would cross every couple of years and I always loved visiting with her. I remember her dancing at the JPII Gala a few years ago & she took the time to tell me what a wonderful night she had. She was so very kind and always assisted whenever anyone was in need. Courtney, she loved you dearly and her face lit up every time she talked about you. May your sweet memories of her bring a smile to your face, know that she is in good hands, and she will continue to send you blessings along the way. My prayers are with you all. Karen Bianchin
