Obituary
Whitt, Nancy S., passed away on Monday, June 1, 2015. She was 80 years old. Nancy was born in Brownsboro, Texas in 1934. She graduated from Texas Women’s University in 1957 with a Master’s degree in Library Science. She lived most of her life in Dallas Texas where she worked as a Librarian at the University of Texas at Dallas. An avid reader, she loved mysteries and was a member of more than one book group. She loved reading and inspired others to discover some of her favorite authors. She also loved her Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. Nancy was a kind, caring, wonderfully smart lady who loved meeting new people and learning their stories. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Susie Tompkins, husband Fred Whitt and son Winston Whitt. Survivors include sister Ann Pope, son Wilson, daughter Wendy, grandson Glen Michael, daughter-in-law Julie and son-in-law Glen Dookie. A memorial service celebrating Nancy’s life will be held at the Aria Funeral Home at 1820 N. Belt Line Rd, Irving, Texas on Tuesday, June 9 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers please donate to the National Parkinson Foundation in Nancy’s honor. Please send the family condolences and sign the guest book on this site.
