Hinshaw, Barbara Jean

Barbara Jean Gouldy Hinshaw, devoted wife, mother, grandmother great-grandmother and friend to many, passed into the Lord’s loving embrace after a courageous battle with cancer on June 22, 2015. Barbara was the smiling face, and courteous hard working volunteer at The Medical Center of Plano in Plano, TX for 23 years from 1991 until 2014. She was also loved by many and a faithful servant for her Lord and Savior and many friends and acquaintances at First United Methodist Church of Plano. She and her husband were greeters and volunteers for many years not only in Plano but at First United Methodist Church of Richardson. Barbara was very active in The Texas Reelers Square and Round Dancers for numerous years and she and her husband “Hank” Hinshaw served as President on the Board of Directors.

Barbara is survived by her husband and best friend of 40 years Robert L. “Hank” Hinshaw, of Plano, TX; son, Keith A. Wilkinson, spouse Margaret Wilkinson, daughter Dana Fickin, spouse Randy Ficken all of Wichita, KS, daughter Carol Woodring, spouse Terry Woodring of Commerce, TX; Grandchildren, Duane Wilkinson, of Wichita, KS, Kara Worthington, of Wichita, KS, Michael Ficken, of Charleston, SC, Matthew, Crutchfield, of Commerce, TX; great grandchildren, Ethan Wilkinson and Alec Wilkinson of Wichita, KS; stepsons David Hinshaw of Sierra Vista, AZ, John Hinshaw of Savannah, TX; 10 step-grandchildren and 13 step- great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held on June 27th, 2015 at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church of Plano, 3160 E Spring Creek  Pkwy, Plano, TX 75074

Donations may made to Heart to Heart Hospice, Carrollton, TX in her honor.

Barb and I shared the same birthday and always said we were "twins" although she was born in Wichita and i was born in Chicago. I loved her and will miss her. We have lost a gem but I am sure she is flying with the angels now. May wonderful memories sustain us all!

I had the opportunity to work with Barbara @ TMCP for close to 13 Years. She was one of the nicest, caring and compassionate and friends that I have know.My sincerest condolences to Bob and the rest of her family.
