Anderson, Sandra K.
Obituary
Born in Junction City, KS on February 3, 1956, to Roy and Lillie (Kirkhoff) Warner. Sandy went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2015. She passed away at UT Southwestern Medical Hospital in Dallas Texas as a result of complications from sarcoidosis. Sandy passed away peacefully and was comforted by her husband and children. Services will be held at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Wichita, Kansas at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015. Chris and Sandy met when he was taking his nephews and some of their friends bowling. One of the friends was Sandy’s brother, Les, and his sisters asked if they could come along. Chris and Sandy saw each other every day for the next few months and were wed in August of 1973. During their 42 years of marriage they had three children. They lived in Junction City and Manhattan, Kansas for a few years, and later moved to Arkansas City, Kansas where they lived for 20 years and raised their children. Sandy led Chris to become a member of the Lutheran Church while in Arkansas City and they moved to Oklahoma in 2003 when Chris became principal at Messiah Lutheran School. In 2007, Chris accepted a call to Trinity Lutheran School in Wahiawa, Hawaii, where they lived for 2 years. During their time in Hawaii, Sandy spent much time walking the beaches and fell in love with sea turtles. They returned to Kansas in 2009 to be closer to their grandchildren and to Sandy’s mother, and have lived in Wichita, Kansas ever since. Sandy was a graduate of the Kansas City School of Medical and Dental Assistants, and served as a medical assistant in Arkansas City and Winfield, Kansas, as well as in Oklahoma City and Hawaii. In Wichita, she worked as a phlebotomist at the Cancer Center of Kansas, where she would encourage the patients in their battles with cancer and often share her faith in God with them. She was preceded in death by her father Roy Warner and her sister, Marsha Adkins. She is survived by her husband Chris Anderson, her mother Lillie Warner of Junction City, Kansas; sister Sharon Houston of Junction City, Kansas; sister Cathy Hoyle of Topeka, Kansas; brother Les Warner of Overland Park, Kansas; daughter Diamond Gulick of Wichita, Kansas; daughter Aurora Djurdjulov of Ladera Ranch, California; son Brock Anderson of Carrollton, Texas; and 8 grandchildren, Kaden Anderson, Jeffery Gulick, Gabriel Anderson, Joshua Anderson, Nathaniel Anderson, Brandt Djurdjulov, Braden Djurdjulov, and Derek Djurdjulov.
