Obituary
Evelyn Stegmann Moore passed away peacefully on January 18th 2016. She was born on March 1st 1934 to Harry and Martha Murski Stegmann on a farm near Somerville in Washington County, Texas. She grew up in Baytown, Texas and Caldwell, Texas where she graduated from high school. Evelyn then moved to Austin where she attended and graduated from Business College and went to work for the City of Austin. She met Thomas Banks Moore Jr., her future husband, on a blind date and the two were married on June 25th 1960. Evelyn was a stay at home mom until her sons were out of high school. She then went to work as a receptionist and sales clerk at the Serendipity Shop in Dallas until they closed in the early 2000’s. Evelyn was a collector and belonged to several collectors groups in the Dallas and Plano area. She and her husband also had booths at many of the local collector’s shows in the hay days of the collector market. Evelyn and her husband were also members of several food and wine groups including Gourmets Elite, AIWF, The German Wine Society and others. She was an avid reader and enjoyed solving the daily jumble and scrabble in the Dallas Morning News to help keep her mind sharp and active. Evelyn Stegmann Moore is survived by her husband of 55 years, Thomas, her two sons, Robert Thomas and Mark Christopher, her sister, Harriett Dombrosky, and many lifelong friends. A memorial mass will be held at St. Marks Catholic Church in Plano, Texas on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016 at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Evelyn’s name to The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association, or to your favorite charity.
