Obituary
Dean Russell Johnson, born September 4, 1931 in Fountain County, Indiana to Carl & Leota Johnson, passed away December 23, 2018 at the age of 87. Dean, a member of the basketball team, graduated from Pine Village High School in 1950. He served in the National Guard, later working for Smith Candy Company, Riggs City Service, Foxworthy Pontiac and retiring from Don Snell Buick. He loved to travel and had a passion for helping others, serving in his church family. A lover of cars, Dean was very knowledgeable of just about any car. The best part of Deans life was when his whole family was together at birthdays and holidays. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Andy Johnson, Dean leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Cathy; daughters, Myra & husband Greg Bonwell, Patty & husband Ken Newman and Christina & husband Dennis Boggs; stepchildren, David Havis & wife Jennifer and Scott Havis & wife Laura; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brother, Cecil Johnson & wife Peggy; sisters, Barbara Short and Bea & husband Bob Sturgeon. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Garland, 801 W. Ave. D, Garland, TX 75040 at 2pm with visitation to begin at 1pm. Burial will follow at Garland Memorial Park.

We have missed him at Monica Park for quite a while, but we are grateful for knowing him and knowing he was happy and enjoying his life. He was a fun and kind person, His memory will be held dear.
