Obituary
Edwin was born in Dallas, TX on February 20, 1941 to Murray William Smith and Helen Alleen Howell Smith. He passed away December 7,2017 in Dallas at the age of 76. Edwin was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served in the Security Police, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He attended the University of Texas in Austin and attained a degree in Business from the University of North Texas. He was awarded his CLU in 1974. Edwin worked for several years with AON Risk Services in Dallas holding many positions including CEO, until early retirement came for him in 1999. Of his accomplishments with AON Risk services, he was most proud to be the producer for the Harley Davidson account. He was retained as Consultant and leader of the service team for this account until fully retiring in 2015. He loved Blues Music and Fast cars. Edwin and his wife Judy moved to Granbury in 2000, living there until his passing. He is preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Judith C. Olsson-Smith (Judy), children, Lisa Michele Smith of Granbury and Paul Denver Smith of Dallas; sister, Barbara and husband Terrence Wood of Corpus Christi; numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews who all adored “Uncle Edwin”; and his beloved furry companions, Theo and Penny, whom we know will miss their Dad.
A Remembrance Gathering will be held on: Friday, December 15, 2017 from 1:30 – 3:00 pm at the funeral home
