Albert "Al" John DiCristofaro, Jr., age 72, of Dallas, TX passed away July 13, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sue (Favorite), daughters Dawn Dieckman (Kurt) and Chelsey Berend (Brian), grandchildren Amber Sparks, Lucy and Mary Berend, brother Bob DiCristofaro (Doreen Charland), sisters Kathy Casey (Steven Magnanti) and Lori Nease (Matt). He is preceded in death by his parents Shirley (Costa) and Albert John DiCristofaro Sr.
Al was raised in West Warwick, RI and attended Our Lady of Providence Seminary. He then continued to Bryant University and graduated magna cum laude. Al met Sue while working at Aetna together in Atlanta, GA. In 1992, he and Sue relocated to Austin, TX where they raised Chelsey and were able to spend more time with Dawn while she attended Texas State. In 2007, they welcomed their first granddaughter, Amber, and enjoyed teaching her to swim in their home pool. During their time in Austin, Al and Sue built a beautiful community of friends but ultimately relocated to Dallas, TX to spend time with his youngest granddaughters.
Al enjoyed a long and happy career in the retirement planning industry. Throughout his years, he impacted many people with his infectious personality, always leaving a lasting impression. Al never met a stranger; making everyone laugh, entertaining the crowd and ensuring that your glass was never empty.
He loved hitting the tennis court, working in his yard (or his neighbors' yards who weren't up to par), and traveling with Sue and his family. He served his friends, family, church, and community selflessly.
Our family is grateful that Al is finally at peace, and we are comforted knowing that when he entered Heaven he most definitely said "it doesn't suck".
In lieu of flowers, Al requested to contribute to your charity of choice.
