Alice Marjorie Robbins Rogers, 98, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2023 at home in Plano, TX. She was born on Feb 13, 1925 to Raymond Lindley Robbins and Hildur Nelson Robbins in Arlington, MA. Alice grew up in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School.
The Robbins family loved going to Deer Isle, Maine in the summer since Raymond was born and raised there. It was on Deer Isle where Alice met the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Rogers during one of those summer trips as a teenager. They married in 1947.
Alice was trained as an Occupational Therapist and initially worked at the Connecticut State Mental Hospital in Middletown, CT. She became the Director of Occupational Therapy there. She later led the Occupational Therapy program at the Aurora Park Nursing Home in East Aurora, NY. Alice finished her career as a home health occupational therapist after she and Dick moved to Oakland, Maine.
Alice is survived by sons Mark (Janette Tubb), of Plano, TX, Richard (Charlene), of Amelia Court House, VA, and Jonathan (Jacqueline) of Haverhill, MA. She had ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Alice was predeceased by her husband Dick in 2006 and her oldest son Samuel in 2016.
Alice loved dogs, especially the four golden retrievers that she had over the years.
At her request, there will be no funeral service. The family will have a private memorial service this summer in Maine. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the animal shelter of your choice or the Deer Isle Stonington Historical Society.
Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
