Allen Curtiss
Cobbs
Sep 24, 1968 — Oct 14, 2024
On Allen's passing at age 56, his beloved family and friends celebrate a life well lived.
He was a cherished son, devoted father, brother, and loyal friend. A proud alum of the Lewisville Fighting Farmers and a star player on their varsity football team, he later became a highly skilled chef and restaurant manager, dedicating his life to the hospitality industry. Allen particularly enjoyed his early years in the industry managing Hard Rock Café in Dallas as well as Planet Hollywood – he shared recently that those were his favorite jobs he ever had as a professional.
His passion for sports was evident in his fervent support of the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Cowboys, LA Raiders, KC Chiefs, and OU Sooners.
Fondly known as "BBQ Bro" by his poker buddies, he was famous for his mouth-watering barbeque meals. His love for poker (despite frequently coming out on the short end...), was a source of joy and camaraderie, whether playing with friends in his poker leagues or at Winstar with his mom.
He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Dalton, older siblings Michael LaCaze and Michelle Hollomon, younger brother Erick Cobbs, and his beloved children Mason (18), and twins Logan and Brady (15). He will be deeply missed by his family, his close-knit friend group the "Richland Park Boys," and all who knew him well.
Rest in Peace, Allen.
