Sheryll Ann Allison, 65, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2017, surrounded by family at her home in Murphy, Texas. Sheryll was born on January 11, 1952, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to John Ellis Stein and Dorothy Marie Stein. Sheryll moved often in her childhood, and spent time in Wyoming, Denver, Houston, Mobile, and Dallas. She graduated from Bryan Adams High School in Dallas, Texas in 1970. After high school, Sheryll attended Eastfield Junior College, where she met her future husband, Thomas Allison. She later transferred and graduated from UTMB in Galveston, Texas. Over the next 30 years, Sheryll worked as the Director of Medical Records at hospitals in Houston, TX, Washington, D.C., and Falls Church, VA. Thomas asked Sheryll's father for her hand in marriage, and on August 16, 1975 she married the love of her life at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Dallas, TX. Sheryll and Thomas were happily married for a remarkably adventurous 42 years. Sheryll was an avid reader, and especially enjoyed mystery novels. On the weekends, when she wasn't spending time at her daughter's soccer games, softball, or track meets, she could be found in the garden caring for her flowers. Those who knew Sheryll, also know she was a devoted animal lover who cared greatly for her miniature schnauzers. Sheryll was preceded in death by her father, John Stein. Sheryll is survived by her spouse Thomas Allison; her daughter, Jennifer Swank and her husband, Ryan Swank; her mother, Dorothy Stein; her sister, Diane Stein; brothers Dennis Stein and his wife, Nancy; Joseph Stein and his wife Annie; nieces, Jessica Whiteman, Jasmine Watson, and Melanie Lo; and nephews Zachary Stein, Jacob Stein, and Colin Stein. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 S. Jupiter Road, Richardson, TX. Rosary will be at 1:00 P.M., followed by mass at 1:30 P.M. Interment will follow at the Church Columbarium. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at a reception at the church following the internment.
