Obituary

SCHNEIDER, Mary Jo Angel Died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on December 26, 2015. Born in Fort Worth on November 20, 1935 to Roe Hart and Una Cook Martin. Mary Jo was a proud alumna of FW Paschal HS, graduated from UTAustin where she was an Alpha Chi Omega, and earned a Masters Degree in Liberal Arts from SMU, where she also worked in administration. A long-time Park Cities resident, she was a tennis player, skier, and early morning regular at the Park Cities "Y". She and husband, Hal, spent many happy years visiting their Santa Fe home and later spent summers hiking and biking in Aspen. She was a 50 year member of the University Park UMC "Wedding Ring" Sunday school class, a DMA docent for 22 years, a long-time member of the Dallas Ski Club, Tres Jolie Dance Club, and a founding member of the Dallas 200 Club. Mary Jo is survived by her adoring husband Hal Schneider; son Trey Angel and wife Nicole Bates and grandson Chase; son Martin Angel and wife Paige and grandchildren Davis and Abby; step-children David Schneider and wife Laura, Susan White Carlton and husband Bobby, and Philip Schneider; step-grandchildren Flint, Amanda and Eric Schneider and Katy White; sister Elsie Bransom; sisters-in-law Miriam Aarons and Jean Schneider; nephews Rob Roe Bransom and Greg Bransom; niece Nancy Arnold, who adored her "Auntie Mame"; and lifelong best friend Nancy Essinger Dickinson. We are grateful for the loving care provided by Lee Poole and Faith Presbyterian Hospice and the LVNs and aides of CareStaf, especially Wynnette Davis. We have lost a classy lady who was charming, intelligent, beautiful, universally liked, (and danced a wicked Rumba). A memorial service celebrating Mary Jos life will be held at 3pm on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at University Park UMC, located at 4024 Caruth Lane (at Preston Road) in Dallas. Memorials in lieu of flowers are requested to University Park UMC or the DMA. Arrangements are under the direction of: Aria Cremation Service & Funeral Home 10116 E. NW Highway Dallas, Texas 75238 214.340.8008
