Beth King

Anna Beth Sims was born in Lost Prairie, Texas, on September 16, 1931, to Finis Leamon Sims and Dorothy Marie Sims. Known to family and friends simply as Beth, she graduated from Mexia High School before moving to Dallas, where she met and married Harvey Dean King.

Together they raised two children, Sharman and Dean. After her children were grown, Beth earned her real estate broker's license and enjoyed a successful career in real estate. Her greatest passion, however, was caring for animals. Throughout her life, she opened her heart and home to countless homeless and injured animals. In her later years, she devoted herself to feeding and caring for the feral cat population in her neighborhood.

Beth passed away peacefully at her home of 65 years on June 15, 2026, just three months shy of her 95th birthday.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharman; her son, Dean; and her beloved granddaughter, Jessica Gillen.

No funeral services are planned. Her ashes will be scattered at the family farm.
