Barry - Immeasurable Loss

Barry Turner passed away gently on June 4 at Texas Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. His family had surrounded him after learning of injuries that presented after a fall in his home, and subsequent surgery.

He was the beloved son of Joyce and Millard, born August 15, 1963, in Dallas.

He is survived by daughters Rebecca and Angela, and grandchildren Christopher, Elexys, Andrew, Leah, Mikenzie, Colton, Wyatt, and Kaden. Also, sisters Patty, Leah, and Teri - as well as his parents.

Barry had lived in Dallas for several decades and was well known and liked in his community. A vehicle accident in 1983 resulted in traumatic brain injury and fractured skull, which through the years caused diminishing use of his left side. This disability had recently caused more frequent falls, although he continued to live his life independently.

Barry was well read. He enjoyed Clancy particularly, and proudly displayed his collection. He and a cousin, Jim, were very close. His Aunt Patsy rescued him, probably more than once, when he was resistant to home rules. A staunch Cowboys fan, learned at our home I'm proud to say. And now, Rangers too. He was proud of his girls - and they tagged him as "awesome" in public texts. His grandchildren? Well well … he adored them.

Observances will be small and private invitation only, beginning with a Barry celebration around June 15. Separate events will likely follow to honor ashes of our beloved Barry. Family and close friends are aware of contacts.

…He seems to be gone…but he can't be gone…

Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
