Obituary

James (Jimmy) Bass passed away surrounded by family on April 10, 2021. Everyone knew he didnt want to pass alone and he didnt. Jimmy lived a fast and hard life, and he went out the same way and on his own terms. Everyone that knew him has a crazy story about him. He leaves this earth the way he always wanted, a Legend. Also, this time its for real and not an attempt to dodge creditors or ex-girlfriends. Jimmy was known for not holding back his opinion (Its a family trait), and he always told you like it was. He always spoke the truth even if it wasnt what you wanted to hear as most of Irving can attest to. He wasnt one for sentiment but he wants you to know that if he owes you a beer, and you can find him in heaven, he will gladly allow you to buy him another. Jimmy had a big heart and was generous to those who needed help and even to those who sometimes probably didnt deserve it. He was always willing to give people a second, third,& fourth chance. He believed in forgiveness. He might have been brash and loud but he would have been the first one to help out a friend in a jam. Jimmy was the life of the party everywhere he went. His grandkids called him Papa Jimmy and he was the fun onery grandpa who took them to bars to pick up the ladies and taught them how to play quarters and shoot dice. Im pretty sure any kid that hung out with him probably learned those things too. He was a big kid at heart. He probably has more toy cars than most boys. He loved Nascar, Budweiser, and Budweiser memoribilia, and Harley freakin Davidson. Hes been a biker all his life and claims that "Lone Wolf" thing but he was never alone he always had a posse of brothers and sisters around him. He was loved by so many people who considered him a brother. Jimmy was one of the hardest working guys youd meet. Hes worked in his familys business Irving Metal Finishers his whole life. Jimmy wasnt much of a communicator but you always knew he cared about you. He also cared a great deal for his Little Debbie ZuZus and Wham Whams. Jimmy was predeceased by his parents, Richard Franklin Bass Sr and Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Bass. His brother Richard Franklin Jr ,and his nephew Jason Bass. and his best dog friend L.T. He is survived by his Daughter Amanda Ross and her husband Kirk Ross, his grandsons Xavier Ross, Zayden Ross and Kai Ross. His sister Diane Bass and brother Tommy Bass. Neices and Nephews, Nicholas Bass, Brittni Bass, Conner Bass, Joseph Bass, and Mellissa Bass Johnson. He is also survived by his many brothers and sisters he considered family. Also hes survived by a sweet ass Harley, 25 beer lights, several Nascar hoods, and a hell of alot of shit only Jimmy Bass could love, and a Big Ole Teddy Bear Dog Sporty. A celebration of life will be held in lieu of a funeral service and will be announced in the coming weeks. Well wishers are encouraged to go to his local watering holes and have a beer in his honor, but make sure to try to pick up the waitresses and dont forget to tip your bartenders!
