Nettie Ruth Howard Beloate passed peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, surrounded by family. She was born at home on October 6, 1927, in Waxahachie, Texas to Ollie and Ruthie Howard. The youngest of six children, she was raised in the Glen Rose area. She graduated from Glen Rose High school in 1946. From there she went to Dallas for secretarial courses. She moved to Fort Worth where she met Gene Beloate, on a blind date and fell in love. Always the nontraditionalists, they eloped to Oklahoma on June 24, 1950. They settled in Haltom City where Gene taught at the old Birdville school. In 1951 their first daughter, Jan, was born and Kim followed in 1952. During summer breaks they would travel to the western parts of the country. In 1955, with two young toddlers in tow, they drove the Alcan to Anchorage, Alaska, where they built their new life full of adventures. Another baby, Lisa, was added to the family in 1957, before Alaska became a state. In 1967 they moved the family back to Texas, where they have resided since. Her adventurous spirit did not stop after moving back to Texas. She was always up for a trip. She traveled to Europe and many other places with Gene and/or friends. She passed that trait on to her children and grand children. One spot she loved to go to was the cabin in Lake City, Colorado. She spent many a summer up there on her own with Gene joining her when he could. They loved to go to Vegas. She never saw a one armed bandit she didnt like. She also enjoyed going to many get to gathers in Glen Rose with her former class mates. She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings and her middle daughter Kim Beloate Rainey. She is survived by her husband William Eugene (Gene) Beloate of Bedford, Texas. Her daughters Jan Lasher of Haltom City, Texas, Lisa and husband John (Scooter) Grimmett also of Haltom City. Seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Plus numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A public visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019, from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the Aria Irving Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019, at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
