Nancy Rhea Benson, age 83, of Dallas, Texas passed away on June 3, 2015. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, June 26, 2015 at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery. Nancy was born on November 10, 1931 in Dallas, Texas to the late Jessie and Ruby (Quisenberry) Magnolia. She attended Highland Park High School. She was a beautiful ice skater and traveled and skated with the Ice Capades. She married Matthew Gordon Michels and they had three children. Nancy later worked in insurance for many years and also for the Dallas Summer Musical Box Office where her mother was manager under Tom Hughes for many years. In 1994, Nancy married Eric Theodore Benson. She was a member of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas where she loved to volunteer. Nancy also loved to travel with her daughters and they enjoyed their annual trip for Mother's Day. Nancy truly loved to spend time in her sun room and in her flower garden that she created at her home. She cherished her three rescued greyhounds, which she referred to as her four-legged children. She was very generous with her time and support with the Promise House in Dallas and Genesis Women's Shelter. Her laughter, wonderful sense of humor and her great wit will be missed by her many friends and beloved family. Nancy is survived by her husband, Eric Benson of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Cindy Wiles and husband, Michael of McKinney, Texas; son, Mike Michels and wife, Phyllis of The Colony, Texas; daughter, Pam Stanley of Claremore, Oklahoma; stepson, Eric Benson of Dallas; 5 grandchildren, Kevin Wiles and wife, Amanda; Jessica Wiles Johnson and husband, Jon; Angie Baker, April Jimison and husband, Kent and Steven Benson; 7 great-grandchildren, Grant, David, Conner, Makayla, Michah, Tyler, and Kolby; Memorials may be made to Promise House of Dallas promisehouse.org or to the Greyhound Rescue Society of Texas www.greyhoundsunlimited.org.
