Obituary

Blake Edward Suggs, 42, of Dallas, Texas passed from this life on January 20, 2023 surrounded by his immediate family at Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas, Texas. Blake was born September 9, 1980, in Midland, Texas to Jerry Ray Suggs, Jr. and Susan K. Suggs.

Blake spent his first 10 years in Midland before moving to Kingwood, Texas in 1990. Blake graduated from Northeast Christian Academy in Kingwood in 1999 at the top of his class. He started his college days at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, before moving to Austin to complete his Advertising Degree from the University of Texas in 2003. Throughout his life, Blake enjoyed fishing and was fascinated with flying and started working on his pilot's license. He played drums and golf, loved guns, shooting, and reloading, and was also a good card player. In addition, music and books were essential to him. He was a tenacious seeker of truth, an observer of people, loved a good conversation, had a keen sense of humor, was a writer and deep thinker, and had a love for others, especially his son, Bentley.

Blake's first job upon completing his Advertising Degree was in Ft. Worth, Texas, where he worked for Range Online Media. He was in Ft. Worth for 5 years before transferring to Chicago, working for iProspect for 3 years, then moved his family to Vermont to work for The Orvis Company for 2 years. After that, he moved his family back to Dallas to work for January Digital for 2 years and then worked for MMI Agency for 14 months.

Blake was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerry and Carlene Suggs, Richard and Patty Knoblock, Betty Knoblock, and his aunts, Edwina Suggs and Judy Long.

Blake is survived by his parents, Jerry and Susan Suggs of Chandler, Texas, and his brother, Andrew Suggs of Ft. Worth, Texas; his son Bentley and his mom, Paige of Dorset, Vermont. He is also survived by uncles and aunts: Steve Suggs of Bedford, Texas; Jim and Jane Hoover of Chandler, Texas; Rich and Trish Goldsand of Scottsdale, Arizona; and Lt. Col. William P. Long. His surviving cousins are Annie (Sarah) Goldsand of Mesa, Arizona; Casey (Ken) Ethier of Phoenix, Arizona; Cody (Ashley) Suggs of Alton, Missouri; and Stevi (Joe) Russell of Ft. Worth, Texas.

A memorial service honoring Blake will be held at a future date.
