Obituary

BOND, Betty Jane passed away peacefully Saturday, January 16, 2016. Betty was born March 31, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois, where she met and married the love of her life, E. Monte Bond, in 1955. She is preceded in death by her husband and youngest daughter, Margaret E. Bond. Betty is survived by her remaining children, Lynn White and son in-law Les, Beverly Bond-Booth and son-in-law John, Susan Bond, Robert Bond and daughter-in-law Ellen, Monte Bond and daughter-in-law Ann, grandchildren Jayson White, Brandon White and wife Stacie, and Charlotte Bond, and great-grandchildren Kennedy and Colton White, and Madeline and Carter White. Betty also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Aurelia Adams and many nieces and nephews. She was a loving woman who will be missed by all her family. The sorrow of her passing will also be felt by the many kind and compassionate caregivers who helped Betty through the last several years, especially Jarid Walker, who for the past 9 years cared for her with respect, gentleness, concern and friendship. The family thanks each and every one of these special people. In 1957, Betty moved with her husband Monte from Chicago to Dallas ,where they made their home and raised six children together. For many years, she worked as the Assistant Director at the Dallas Bar Association and helped grow its many resources, most notably, the Lawyer Referral Service. Betty enjoyed traveling, bridge, reading, and crossword puzzles, but mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and her beloved cat Sugar. The family will hold a private service on February 4, 2016 and a small celebration of her life on February 6, 2016.
