Bonnie Jean Harrington passed away the morning of Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the age of 79. She valiantly battled cancer for the second time in her life and it proved too much for her to overcome. So she closed her lovely eyes and exhaled one final time in exchange for Grace. Bonnie is survived by her three children, Bryan Harrington (44), Deanna Featherston (57) and Jack Parker (53); her son-in-law Cliff and daughters-in-law Jennifer and Mindy. She will forever be remembered by her grandchildren, Michael, Kayla, Cori, Amanda, Preston, Ethan, Tatum, Konner and Karson. Bonnie also leaves behind numerous great grandchildren. Bonnie was born in Corsicana, Texas in 1942 to parents Doris Odell "Red" Rogers and Mary Rogers, but she was raised by her loving step-mother, Bertha Erline Wilkinson and her father "Red" Rogers, all who preceded her in death. One of six children, she is survived by her brother, James Upton Rogers and sisters, Suzanne Marie Rogers and Sandy Carter. After graduating from high school in Dallas she married and began raising a family. Bonnie was a quiet, undecorated hero. She gave well beyond what she had, never asked for anything in return, and always put others ahead of herself. That's just who she was in her soul. Bonnie was a fun-loving, but strong and unwavering mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She gave out hugs in bunches and was kind to those loyal few. Bonnie was a natural performer. She had a voice of the 70's and wasn't shy about sharing a tune. The one song that always reminds me of her sound went something like…."Why do birds suddenly appear every time you are near? Just like me, they long to be, close to you….". That line pretty much sums her up. Bonnie was a true fan. Stand back when she was watching her beloved Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers! Stand way back while she was watching her grandkids play or perform because she had a fun, contagious cheer!! She would shout, clap, support, and love with all her heart. Bonnie Harrington was a daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, coach, clown, volunteer and at her core she was simply a good woman who will be missed.
Rest in Peace mom. I know that this is not goodbye.
