Mr. James "Jim" Harvey Calhoun, formerly the music librarian for the Dallas Public Library Fine Arts Division, died on July 20, 2019, at the age of 91. Jim was born in Chillicothe, Texas on June 18, 1928, to James P. And Ruby Calhoun. He obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education (with a minor in Organ) from Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth, Texas, 1949. Jim's parents, his sister, Mary Gooch, and his partner of fifty years, Richard Luce, all predeceased him. Jim is survived by his nephew, Dr. James Blanton Gooch of Fairfield, Texas, and many friends in Dallas, New York and California.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 2, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. till 6:30 p.m. Mariano's Hacienda 6300 Skillman Street Dallas, Texas 75231 In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the American Heart Association.
