Charles Elmer Card was born September 27, 1932 in Humboldt, Kansas to Elmer Card and Christiana Lucinda Jane Baker Card. Charles passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 2, 2014. Charles served four years in the U.S. Navy, on the USS Rendova CVE114, during the Korean War . He was a member of the Allen Masonic Lodge #1435 AF&M. He retired from ARCO Oil & Gas/BP, where he was a lab technician for 30+ years. He was an avid gardener and fisherman. He enjoyed golfing, casinos, and in his early years, loved to hunt with his bird-dog "Sport". Charles was preceded in death by his father and his mother; a brother, Frederick Card of Kansas; and a daughter, Cheryl A. Jeffrey of Garland, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra G Card, of Melissa Texas; a sister, Mary Jane Sumner of Grove, Oklahoma; his sons, Russell E. and wife Diane, from Mesquite Texas, Elmer A. and wife Leslie, from Galveston, Texas and Anthony S. Couto and companion Ellen Box of Bonham, Texas; his daughters, Linda M. Card Phillips and husband Michael of Murchison Texas and Robin L. Morris and husband Curtis of St. Clairsville Ohio; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Plus in Sherman, Texas.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th, 2pm at our Aria Memorial Chapel 19310 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas 75252.
