Carlos Alberto Serna Giraldo, lovingly known as Carlos Serna, was born on October 30, 1950, in Santa Rosa de Cabal, Risaralda, Colombia, and passed away on June 11, 2023.
Carlos was a devoted husband, father, and faithful parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi in Grapevine, Texas. He touched many lives with his kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for his family and friends. In the words of St. John of the Cross, "Where there is no love, put love, and you will find love." Carlos embodied this sentiment in every aspect of his life, leaving a legacy of love and devotion to those who were blessed to know him.
Carlos married the love of his life, Lucy Serna, on April 4, 1987, and together, they built a beautiful life, raising their cherished daughter, Julie. Carlos worked as a Fleet Service employee for Envoy Air at DFW, Texas, for 27 years, where he was well-respected and admired by his colleagues. He was a dedicated worker, always going above and beyond to ensure the safety and satisfaction of passengers and coworkers alike. Despite the demands of his career, Carlos always prioritized his family and faith, finding solace and strength in the words of St. Paul to the Corinthians, "So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love."
Carlos is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Lucy Serna, and their beloved daughter, Julie Serna and his grandchildren, Ulen and Dale. He is preceded in death by his father, Luis Quintero, and mother, Maria Valencia. As we remember Carlos, we are reminded of the words of St. Augustine, "Love is the beauty of the soul." Carloss soul shone brightly, and his love will forever live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
