Luz Maria Castelan Lucero Castelan, of Plano, Texas, passed away on April 28, 2014. Lucero was born on June 11, 1956 in Mexico City, Mexico. While studying abroad in Vancouver, Canada, she met the love of her life, Gregory Castelan, whom she would marry on March 17, 1978. They had two wonderful children, Andrew and Jonathan, who she would do anything for and she often said they were the prides of her life. As someone who loved her family and welcomed all new members with open arms, she greatly loved Natalie, Andrew's wife, and Ginny, Jonathan's fiance, both of whom she referred to as the daughters she never had. She was a very caring individual with a big heart who always looked for ways to help those in her life and made friends everywhere she went. She was also a woman with an incredibly adventurous spirit who loved to travel and see the world with her family. She will be remembered for her kind heart, loving smile, and generous nature. Lucero is survived by her loving sons and devoted husband. A private service will be held for Lucero's immediate family. In lieu of flowers, Lucero's family requests donations be made in her name to the Dallas Food Bank or your favorite charity. She loved us all unconditionally and will be very missed.
