Obituary

When Gene Cernan stepped off the moon and back into his craft to come home, he knew it would be the last step man took on the moon for some time, but it ended up being mans last step during his lifetime. Cernans impressive flight career, including 3 trips to the move, 2 times piloting the lander, and a world record for highest speed in any manned vehicle, earned him a rightful place in American history. Following his career at NASA and in the Navy, Cernan would be an entertainer, a writer, and even a newscaster with weekly segments promoting science and health advances. He died at a Houston Hospital on January 16th, 2017
