Mario Joseph Cerroni, 81, of Ft. Worth, TX passed away on April 15, 2014 in his home. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Fay Cerroni, his children, Mary Ellen Cerroni (Armando Lopez de Victoria) of Farmington, NM, Richard M. Cerroni (Sharon Ngao) of Haslet, TX, and Margaret A. Cerroni Fade (Charles) of Ft Worth, TX. He is pre-deceased by his brother, Alexander Cerroni, sister Antoinette Benedetti and sister-in-law Rebecca Carnright (Gene). He is also survived by his brothers and sisters in-law Nancy Squire, Harold Squire (Mina Austin), Charles Squire (Elaine), Allan Squire (Kitty), special family members Cheryl Squire and Susan Cerroni, his beloved grandchildren, Melissa (T.J.) Mitchell, Maria, Benjamin (Sydney ), Sarah and Grace as well as his great-grandchildren, Noah, Walter, and Jamison. Mario is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mario was born in Saranac Lake, NY January 1, 1933 the son of P. Michelangelo (Mike) and Sabina (Sarah) Cerroni and was raised in Endicott, NY. He graduated from Union Endicott High School and served in the US Air Force during the Korean War as a medic. He married Marilyn Squire in 1958. He graduated from Ithaca College in 1958 with a degree in music education and was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and went on to obtain his masters degree in music education at Ithaca College. He was a music teacher in the Maine-Endwell School system where he taught choral music. Early in his career he was the choir director at St. Anthony of Paduas church in Endicott, NY and was musical director of the St. Anthonys Players. As an area musician he performed in various ensembles on piano, bass and mandolin. He and his family moved to the Dallas Ft Worth area of Texas in 1981. He worked for Security companies for many years before he retired in 2000. Mario had many hobbies and liked to do wood crafts. He loved watching musicals and reading biographies of musicians and he loved to dance. Most of his friends and family will remember the many sing-a-longs he had at family parties. A mass celebrating Mario's life will be held at St. Anthony of Padua's Church in Endicott, NY at a later date. The family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimers Association in Marios name.
