Chad Brandon Koger, age 55, died peacefully on January 19, 2026. Chad was born in Dallas, TX on April 20, 1970, to Rita Griffin Koger and Fred Owen Koger III. He graduated from W. T. White High School and attended Texas Tech University. Chad met the love of his life, Jennifer Darveaux Moomaw Koger in 2007 and married on October 22, 2011.

Chad had many interests including playing soccer and tennis, attending outdoor art festivals, enjoying musical events, and volunteering with organizations working with the homeless. He spent his childhood and youth participating in the fellowship of First Presbyterian Church Dallas, singing in the youth choir, attending church retreats at Mo Ranch, serving at The Stewpot, and developed life-long friendships with members and clergy of the church.

Chad had a deep affection for rescue dogs and he and his wife opened their home to several furry friends. He worked as an executive administrator and led teams for volunteer service days, again focusing on the homeless. His life was reflected in numerous ways by the thoroughly eclectic, diverse, accomplished, loyal and, above all, loving collection of friends he leaves behind, all of whom were mutually recognized as a wonderfully extended family.

Chad is survived by his devoted wife, Jennifer Koger, mother Rita Griffin Koger, stepmother Peggy McPhilimy Koger, father Fred Owen Koger III, mother and father-in-law Vickie and James Moomaw, sister and brother-in-law Stephanie and Michael Horsley, aunt and uncle Kathy and Alan Fondy, cousins Aimee Teeple and Heather Golden. Chad is also survived by his constant companions during his illness, his beloved dogs Ebby and Babs.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Elizabeth and John Griffin, Sara and Fred Koger, and uncle John Young Griffin.
