Charles Eugene
Girton
Aug 14, 1962 — Oct 8, 2026
Dallas, TX
Charles Eugene Girton, lovingly known as Chuck, was born on August 14, 1962, in New Mexico. He passed away on October 8, 2026, in Dallas Texas at the age of 64, leaving behind a family who loved him and memories that will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Chuck was a devoted husband, dad, Paw Paw, brother, and friend. For 33 years, he shared his life with the love of his life, Sissy Girton. Their years together were filled with love, compassion, companionship, and a bond that meant so much to him. His family was an important part of his life, and he took great pride in those he loved.
Chuck worked as an irrigation specialist, dedicating his working years to his trade. He was also a three-time cancer survivor, having battled prostate, lung, and skin cancer. His journey was one filled with challenges but one filled with hope and love.
In his free time, Chuck enjoyed reading books, cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, and watching old Western television shows. He especially loved The Virginian and Laredo. He had a special place in his heart for his dogs, who brought him companionship and happiness.
Chuck is survived by his wife Sissy Girton; his stepson, Troy Matthews, and wife, Cassie, of North Richland Hills, Texas; and his stepdaughter, Angela Penland, and her husband, of Mabank, Texas. He also leaves behind five grandchildren whom he loved dearly: Kendall Penland and Kaden Penland, both of Mabank, Texas; Wylie Matthews of Mesquite, Texas; and Liam Matthews and Tessa Matthews, both of North Richland Hills, Texas.
He is also survived by his sister, Brenda Caldwell, and her husband, Allen, of Garland, Texas; his brother, Herb Girton, and his wife, Donnalee, of Seagoville, Texas; and his sister, Kim Ray, and her husband, Kelly, of Springfield, Missouri. Chuck also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved and was proud of.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer Girton and Thelma Peters, and his brother, Bobby Girton.
Chuck’s life was defined by the people he loved, the interests that brought him joy, and the strength he showed through life’s challenges. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Though his time here has come to an end, the love he shared and the memories he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will forever be remembered as a beloved member of his family and, above all, the love of Sissy’s life for 33 years.
Rest peacefully, Chuck. You will be loved and missed always.
