Obituary

Charles "Charlie" Robert Gonzalez entered into eternal rest to be with his Lord and Savior on December 29, 2017 at the age of 64 after a valiant year-long battle with cancer. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Edmundo Gonzalez-Correa and Linette Logeman Gonzalez, and his brother, Luis Edmundo Gonzalez. Charlie moved with his family to Dallas when he was 10 years old and attending St. Rita Catholic School and Jesuit College Preparatory School. He received his bachelor's degree from UT Austin and his master's degree from UT Dallas. He began his career at Texas Instruments (TI) and spent many years of his career in the telecom industry. Charlie met his wife, Teresa "Terry" Regan Gonzalez, at TI within a month of starting work. It was a whirlwind courtship and they were married six months later. They were blessed with a wonderful marriage of almost 40 years. He was a proud and devoted father and grandfather. Charlie's other loves included working with investments, running, and biking. He was active in the Dallas area running community serving as the Plano Pacers Running Club Co-President for the past 4 years with Terry. Charlie will be terribly missed by Terry, son and daughter in law, Matt and Ashley Gonzalez, daughter and son in law, Monica and Perry Clarke, grandchildren, Wyatt, Xander, and Morrissey Gonzalez, siblings, Leila Gonzalez Sullivan, Lynette Gonzalez, and James Gonzalez and their spouses as well as very dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and life long friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity or to Dillon International Adoption Agency, who brought Monica into the family or to the Plano Pacers Running Club whose members Charlie missed terribly over the year he was fighting cancer. Visitation is Wednesday at Gateway Funerals and Cremation from 6-8pm. A funeral mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church at 3pm on Thursday.
