Obituary

Christiana Nicole Gallaher, beloved wife, daughter, sister, friend and resident of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on September 4, 2024, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Dallas, surrounded by her loving family. Born December 1, 1976, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Christie's vibrant spirit shone brightly from a young age. She attended school in Wagoner and Tulsa, graduating from Union High School in 1995. She continued her education by earning her Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology from the University of Oklahoma and a Master's degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Christie devoted her career to empowering others through speech therapy and mentorship. Her work began in Katy and Plano Public Schools and extended through various private home therapy companies, culminating in her role as a consultant for PRC-Saltillo, supporting those who use alternative communication devices. Her unwavering commitment to mentoring and training others ensured that countless individuals could find their voice, and her influence continues to resonate deeply in the lives of those with whom she worked.

Outside of her professional life, Christie enjoyed camping, outdoor adventures, cheering on her favorite Sooners team, and volunteering with North Texas Basset Hound Rescue. She was committed to providing recreational activities for children with special needs and cherished time spent with family and friends.

Christie was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Robert A. Johnston; her paternal grandparents Robert S. and Foyce Johnston; and her maternal grandparents, James Ira and Audrey White. She is survived by her husband, Troy Gallaher; stepdaughters Shauna Gallaher and Kalie Short and husband Justin Short; her parents, Ed and Alice Keeney; her in-laws, John and Gayle Gallaher; her brother, Dr. Robert Johnston and his wife Dr. Amanda Sovik-Johnston; her brother, Jason Keeney and friend Katie Wendt; sister-in-law Lindsay Hall and husband Austin; and her beloved nephews, Cole, Wes, and Robbie Johnston, Jackson and Knox Keeney, John Gallaher VII, and Hunter Hall, as well as her and Troy's four special hounds, Scout, Sassy, Stella, and Bailey.

Though she left us far too soon, the warmth of Christie's presence will continue to be felt. Her legacy of compassion and dedication lives on in those she helped, the therapists and parents she mentored, and all who were touched by her kindness.
