Christine M. S. Fortier (nee Cayer), age 63, passed away on February 15, 2025, in McKinney, Texas.

She was a beloved wife, mother, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kind heartedness, generosity, and overall fun nature.

Christine was born on June 27, 1961, in Ottawa, ON, Canada and was the daughter of Edouard and Laurette Cayer. Christine began dating her husband Denis Fortier in May 1986, whom she married on May 18, 1991, in Ottawa. Christine was a proud and happy mother to her son Alexi Fortier born August 23, 1995. In 1997, Christine uprooted from Ottawa where she'd always lived and went on a new adventure to McKinney, TX where she spent the rest of her years. She spent 8 years as a stay-at-home mom taking care of Alexi while fostering 15 different children in that time. She re-entered the workforce in 2005, going back to the legal field of patents and trademarks that she loved and had left behind in Ottawa and continued to work until she retired in 2023. While working, she also touched the lives of 4 foreign high school aged students (Kira, Laura, Adolfo, and Anri) from Europe and South America hosting each of them in her home for a full school year.

Christine is also survived by her 8 siblings Jean-Pierre Cayer (Sallah Canty), Micheline Cayer (Michel Labelle), Lisanne Cayer (Robert Whelan), Jacques Cayer (Lise Eynatten), Claude Cayer (Soraya Melgarejo), Danielle Cayer (Jacques Bouchard), Denis Cayer (Eileen Wright), Jocelyn Cayer (Allan Barnes), numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and her dog Jones and cat Enzo.

She was pre-deceased by her parents and sister Marie-Paul Romain (Steve) and her other cherished dogs.

Christine and her genuine laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her including her husband, son, family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

Celebrations of Christine's life will be held in McKinney, TX on April 26, 2025, and in Ottawa on June 27, 2025.
